Trying to Fly!

Happy New Year, or rather, Happy February 1st!! One whole month from 2009 is gone already. Where did it go?

Do any of you fly with Flylady (http://www.flylady.com)? I am really wanting to follow her routines, but time just goes by so fast and I just can't seem to keep up with it all. I'm not sure if I'm a procrastinator, if I'm lazy or what my issue is. I'm thinking a bit of both of those things combined result in me not keeping an organized house like I would like. Thankfully my husband, who works shift work, can be persuaded to hang out with the vaccuum cleaner now and then. Thanks to him & Spencer, my house is clean ... and redecorated (I think some things will find their way back to where they were originally - sorry Shaun). Now I just have to keep up with it, again. Wish me luck!

In Loving Memory

Today we put to rest Shaun's mom, Shirley Ruth Gifford (nee Spencer). She passed away suddenly on Thursday, December 4, 2008. What a beautiful bride she was and a wonderful lady who was loved by more than she knew. Spending family time this weekend brought us to the photos, and my sister-in-law found this BEAUTIFUL photo of her tucked away. It has been wonderful to spend the days listening to the boys and their Dad reminisce. During all these times with everybody around, I couldn't help but think how happy she would have been to be there. There was nothing that made her happier than to have all her family in her home visiting and talking about all the great times they had. Of course it makes me wish that we had done more of that when she was with us. She will be missed by many and remembered always.

A Challenge?

I have been e-mailing Silke, a lady who's blog I stumbled on looking at stamping ideas, with some questions about her blog. Last night in her e-mail she mentioned a challenge. A challenge - really - what is it? So I went searching her blog, which took me to Splitcoast Stampers (a really cool place for ideas on using stamps you may have) and found this challenge. I followed the directions and came up with this tree. It opens up to hold little goodies!! I ended up staying up TOO LATE so no more challenges late at night for me. Sorry if the photo is a bit light. I've had some difficulties in taking this little tree's picture. Some trees just don't want to co-operate!
PS: Thanks Silke!

I've Figured it Out!

I think I may have joined the 21st century and finally wrapped my head around this blog thing. I'm not sure why I want to do a blog, or if I'll keep it up, but I intend to share pictures of some of the things I make with my stamping friends!!
For today, here is a picture of Spencer at the Richardson Corn Maze last month, on a day much like today - nice and warm! It's hard to think about stamping my Christmas Cards when it feels like I should be wearing sandals, but I'm going to try to get into it.
